A motorhome stopover on the River Severn

What £25 gets you

A level gravel hardstanding pitch with its own 16-amp hook-up and fresh water tap, for motorhomes and campervans up to 8.5 metres. There's an Elsan point behind pitch 1 and drains for grey waste. Fishing on our own stretch of the Severn is included, dogs stay free and have a large enclosed field to run in, and the price is the same whatever the season and however many of you there are. No club membership, no minimum stay, no deposit.

What we don't have: toilets, showers, Wi-Fi or EV charging. The site suits self-contained units, and the mobile signal is good on all the main networks.

Arriving

Turn off the A442 at ///lawyer.bands.starters, two miles south of Bridgnorth, and follow our private drive down the hill, bearing left at the bottom. There's no gate and nowhere to check in, so arrive at any time from 12 noon, including after dark: just find your pitch and settle in. Ten families live on the park all year, so please keep to walking pace on the drive and keep noise down late on. A second car parks in the car park by the drive. Leave by 11am.

Handy for a night on the way through: Kidderminster is about 20 minutes down the A442, Telford 25 minutes up it, Wolverhampton 35 minutes and Birmingham about an hour.

Leaving the van where it is

The 297 Bus stops at the park entrance and runs into Bridgnorth, and a riverside footpath heads the same way. Two miles up the road you'll find shops, pubs, the Cliff Railway and the Severn Valley Railway, so the van can stay on its pitch for the whole visit.
